Video Podcasts on PSP, Plus Free Stuff in Shops
As we told you on SPOnG earlier this week, video podcast support is coming to the PlayStation Portable thanks to the lastest 2.80 firmware update published this week.

The update allows your PSP to receive video clips through RSS feeds from blogs and other websites, and also adds compatibility for the .3gp audio format (used by some mobile phones) and greater access to content stored on Memory Sticks. There’s one more update expected before the end of this year, which will add VoIP telephony and the ability to boot games from Memory Sticks.

In other PSP-related news, PlayStation®Spot launches tomorrow, which is the new service whereby you can go into a videogame shop and download game demos, video content, movie trailers, music tracks, image galleries and other stuff for free.

GAME are trialling the service in their flagship Oxford Street store, as well as their non-flagship Milton Keynes store. Both of these stores are running ‘a LocoRoco Funday’ tomorrow and will be giving away Ceramic White PSPs and loads of other stuff in order to promote the service, so it may well be worth your while getting down there if you can.

To find out where else you can go and give it a try, check out Sony’s info site at www.playstationspot.co.uk.

Now all we need is a range of decent games and there may well be life in the old PSP yet!
