As we reported last week,
Sony will shortly make some pretty exciting announcements regarding a major upscaling of PSP gaming in the near future.
According to the UK PSP Magazine, Sony is promising up to 7,000 PSone games emulated on the PSP by the end of 2007. Yes, you read that right. Seven
thousand.
The mag offers no concrete release date of pricing details but does confirm that launch titles would include Tomb Raider, Symphony of the Night, Final Fantasy VII , VIII and Silent Hill.
This is
golden news for gamers on the move, who so far in 2006 have been showered with news about all the cool and exciting things going on in the world of the Nintendo DS. It’s about time Sony gave them a bit of attention, and providing them with a back catalogue of 7,000 PSOne games is a damn good start.
This, plus the EyeToy motion-sensing camera add-on, which hits shelves in October, new PS3-compatible firmware in November, along with the
earlier news regarding a sequel to Ridge Racer - well, it's all good, say we.
Now is the time to go and invest in a PSP, if you haven’t already.
