Nightmare Creatures 2 will be the first title released under the recently announced publishing, marketing and distribution alliance between Konami and Universal Interactive Studios. Developed by Kalisto Entertainment, Nightmare Creatures 2 is the sequel to the hit 1998 game Nightmare Creatures, which sold in excess of 1.5 million units world-wide on Sony PlayStation, Nintendo 64 and PC platforms. Nightmare Creatures 2 for both Sony PlayStation and Sega Dreamcast will hit store shelves in the second quarter of 2000.

"The visual quality of the game, combined with the excellent gameplay and rich universe were key factors in Universal's decision to publish Nightmare Creatures 2 in conjunction with Konami," said Jim Wilson, Sr. Vice President and General Manager of Universal Interactive Studios. "This game retains all of the elements that made the first title so popular while improving on the overall gaming experience."

"We're thrilled to kick off the year 2000 with the first game released through our deal with Universal," said Kunio Neo, President of Konami of Europe. "Kalisto's original Nightmare Creatures developed a tremendous global audience whom we expect will be tremendously pleased with the sequel."

Nightmare Creatures 2 will immerse players in the same chilling and imaginative world as the original Nightmare Creatures, with the tale picking up a full century after the events of the previous story. The new title maintains the intensity, action and gothic horror style of the original, with improved gameplay mechanics, stunning new graphics, new characters, even more terrifying monsters and increased ability to explore the game's enormous levels.

"We are excited to have the marketing and distribution might of Universal and Konami behind the upcoming release of Nightmare Creatures 2," said Nicolas Gaume, President of Kalisto Entertainment. "We have worked hard on this project with an immense desire to produce a high quality action game set in an immersive and compelling universe. I hope that the quality of Nightmare Creatures 2, shows the dedication Kalisto has to create fantastic games for players around the world."
