Red takes the boredom out of battle simulations with real time, action packed, WWII robot tank action.
Red is set during a fictional period in Japan after World War 2. Opposing political forces have divided the land of the rising sun into three territories. Cold war tensions lead to an arms race and the mass production of combat robots. Finally the situation degenerates once more into full-blown war...
In turn-based rounds players move into strategic positions on a battle map, setting war machines and troops whilst considering mission directives. But sooner or later someone has to make the first move and all hell breaks loose in devastating style.
Each battle is fought against the clock and each calls for tough decisions. Do you hold back foot soldiers and weaken the enemy, or do you go for the quick kill and risk crippling losses?
However, what really marks Red out from the crowd is the style of play. All battles are fought in real-time. You've got to be able to think on your feet and second-guess opponents' moves as the shells fall thick and fast.
Special attacks (which are gained via experience) close range scraps, cinematic camera work, truckloads of weapons, in-depth missions and HUGE special effects add even more thrills to the gameplay. Red delivers a hell of a punch.
