ECTS- 3 September 2000- Ubi Soft® Entertainment and Entertainment Software Publishing Inc. (ESP) have partnered to publish and distribute Grandia II, the sequel to one of the world's hottest RPGs - Game Arts' hit, Grandia. Grandia II is also being developed by Game Arts, for Sega Dreamcast™ . Fast-paced 3D real-time action in a dramatic cinematic style and a host of illustrious characters cast players' into the world of Grandia II.

Ubi Soft is now proud to present this highly-anticipated successor to the excellent RPG that not only includes a two-player mode, but will also be the very first console RPG to support the Dreamcast's modem. The development crew for Grandia II includes Noriyuki Iwadare (Lunar series and Grandia), who returns as music composer, and acclaimed Manga artist Yuushi Kanoe (whose previous work includes Early Reins by Atlus) as character designer.

Grandia II's story takes place in a completely new and different world from the original Grandia. Players will start off in a magicial place entitled Shurisen on the continent of Granacliff, which has a giant earthquake-like crack through its centre. It has been over 10,000 years since the Battle of Good and Evil has taken place. Now Valmar, the Devil that tried to destroy the world, is about to awaken and complete his original goal. As Valmar's Moon casts a sinister glow, the time of valiant and unexpected heroes has begun. Upon receiving an assignment from the Church of Granus, Geohound, Ryudo and his partner Skye set out to chaperone the young priestess-in-training, Elena, to a religious ceremony to be held at the Tower of Garmia. However, the ceremony fails and Valmar's dark descent upon the land thrusts the fragile world in the midst of the war between the gods of good and evil. Ryudo finds himself accompanied by friends and new found allies, as he must come to terms with himself and his destiny, so that he may rescue the land from peril.
