IN-FUSIO today announced the launch of the first of its interactive-enabled mobile games, IF Racing 2.

IF Racing 2 will be available across ExEn, Java and Brew platforms and will initially be launched with Orange France and Vodafone Omnitel (IF Racing 2 will be branded Ferrari Racing 2 for Vodafone) and throughout the rest of Europe thereafter.

IF Racing 2 builds on the successful original IF Racing, launched in April 2002, by adding exciting new game play features. Uniquely IN-FUSIO introduces 'mirror car' which enables players to compete against each other around 16 world championship race tracks. Players send (via SMS) their best game plays (which appears as ghost-like racing car) to either challenge their friends or they can compete against the best performance recorded from any player who has submitted a sequence.

IF Racing 2 is a game of skill, speed and strategy. Mobile gamers compete not only against each other but also against variable weather conditions making the selection of the correct vehicle set-up and quick pit-stops crucial if the player is to get the most championship points and be crowned 'driver champion'.

Jérôme Schurch, head of games, at IN-FUSIO, said: "With the world's first 'mirror car' capability we have brought a new and exciting functionality to mobile gaming. This interaction is a natural progression and first step towards true multi-player mobile gaming, providing a competitive environment in which gamers can take on their friends and other racers whenever and wherever they want."

IN-FUSIO now has over 3,350,000 players registered worldwide and has accumulated 9,000,000 game downloads. This means a new player every five seconds and one download every four seconds. Since its launch in July 2001 these usage figures have been increasing by 15% month on month. After downloading a game, IN-FUSIO's service allows the player to unlock further game levels, challenge other players or post scores using SMS. As well as delivering all important interactivity to the games service this has also proved an important revenue stream for IN-FUSIO's operator customers who have benefited from the 50,000,000 premium text messages that have been sent by mobile gamers to date.
