Over four years in the making, the PlayStation 2 game "Primal" is a unique and ambitious project that fuses detailed, realistic visuals and top quality audio with original game play elements, style and depth. Unprecedented production values, meticulous art-direction and the large-scale symphonic score combine to create a compelling, original experience of dark and violent fantasy that transcends the typical videogame adventure formula.
Andrew Barnabas, Creative director of Bob and Barn, says: "When we were first asked to compose the music to such a dark gothic fantasy, we never thought we would get the go-ahead - or the budgets - to write what has effectively turned into a full-scale movie score. Performed by the 77 piece City of Prague philharmonic orchestra and 32 part chorus, the five diverse realms of the Primal game are each represented by a separate musical identity, with sections displaying the composer's British classical sensitivity and extensive use of haunting choir and solo soprano performances.
