Ubi Soft’s Prince of Persia recognised as best action/adventure game at E3
Ubi Soft Entertainment, one of the world’s largest video game publishers, today announced that Prince of Persia: the Sands of Time has won Best Action/Adventure Game by the prestigious Game Critics Awards: Best of E3 2003. The Game Critics Awards are the only independent Electronic Entertainment Expo awards, voted on by editors from nearly 40 leading outlets that cover games -- including top magazines, online sites, newspapers, and television programs nationwide.

E3 Judge N'Gai Croal, General Editor, Newsweek writes: “...The Sands of Time comes out of nowhere at E3 and gets everyone talking. Rather than slavishly translate the original into 3D, Ubi Soft's Montreal Studio has so successfully reinvented it for the current crop of consoles that we'd still be talking about this game even if it weren't based on an acclaimed classic. The animation--so often the bane of today's games--is spot on, pulling you deeper into the world as the Prince pulls off move after move with the grace and flair of a young Fred Astaire. The camera--another sticking point in modern gaming--captures the action as effortlessly as it does Prince of Persia's beautiful environments.” (www.e3awards.com)

This highly coveted award adds to the numerous awards Prince of Persia has recently won, including Best Overall Game of the Show for PlayStation 2 by both IGN.com and GameSpy.com.

Scheduled to ship for all video game platforms in Q4 2003 and PC in Q1 2004, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is poised to become the next must have game from Ubi Soft’s top game makers. Fans will remember that Ubi Soft won Best Action/Adventure Game at E3 last year for its best-selling title (FY 2002-2003), Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell.
