Ubi Soft Entertainment, a world leader in interactive entertainment, today announced that from June 2002, the company will be present in Korea with a new office in Seoul. Sam Stewart, General Manager for South East Asia, based in Australia, will supervise the subsidiary. In order to stay close to the needs of the market, a team of two people will be dedicated to providing complete services to the Ubi Soft partners throughout the Korean territory.

The opening of this new subsidiary reflects an ambition to position the group in a rapidly expanding market. Ubi Soft products have already been successful in Korea, with 400,000 units of the Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six range sold since its first release in 1998.

Ubi Soft will profit from its experience on the Chinese market - as number one developer and publisher - to enhance its performance on the Korean one. Following the opening of the Tokyo subsidiary in 1994, the company reinforced its presence in the Asia-Pacific by establishing itself in Sydney, Shanghaï and Hong Kong.

This new subsidiary is consistent with Ubi Soft's strategy of strengthening its local presence in order to become more responsive to the specific characteristics of each market. Ubi Soft is now present in 22 countries, with distribution facilities in 21 countries and production facilities in 10 countries.

"Korea is a strategic market, which represents both another step in Asia and an increasing selling potential for our products, not only on PC, but now also on console" stated Alain Corre, Managing Director for Europe, Asia-Pacific and South America for Ubi Soft Entertainment.
