22 October 2012: Tandem Events has joined forces with Edge and Future to launch an event for game developers that will share the visions of some of the most progressive thinkers in the interactive entertainment industry.

The event, part of the ‘Edge Presents’ series, will run prior to – and in partnership with – Tandem Events’ well-established Evolve Conference on 11 December in London. Edge Presents: Changing The Game will take place from 08.00-10.00 at 41 Portland Place. Evolve will follow from 10.30 at DeVere West One, Portland Place. Developers wishing to attend both events will benefit from a 20 per cent discount.

Tadhg Kelly and Mark Sorrell have been confirmed as speakers for the Edge Presents: Changing The Game event.

Tadhg Kelly has been working in games for 20 years – he is a videogame designer, writer, producer and start-up founder as well as a columnist for Edge. His presentation – titled ‘Knowing Our Place: Why Games Should Sit at the Head of the Media Table’ – looks at how the tendency to defer to other media as superior art forms is the biggest challenge facing game makers, and how they can overcome it.

Mark Sorrell is development director at Hide&Seek. His presentation is titled ‘Winning The Living Room’ and looks at how the evolution in technology that led to free-to-play casual games becoming the biggest growth area in the games business is now headed to the living room and how developers can take advantage of this.

“We’re always looking at new ways of engaging with Edge’s community, and in partnering with Evolve we’re providing the perfect launchpad for a thought-provoking and rewarding event,” said Tony Mott, Edge’s editor-in-chief.

"The Evolve Conference in both London and Brighton has become recognised as a key destination for developers looking to explore the latest technologies, push new boundaries and peer into the future. We're delighted to be working closely with Edge on this breakfast briefing and adding a new dimension to Evolve through Edge Presents," commented Andy Lane, managing director of Tandem Events.

Early Bird passes for Edge Presents are available from the Evolve website and priced at £115 before 7 November 2012. Early bird passes for Evolve Conference are priced at £245 until 7 November 2012, or an Early Bird pass to both events is just £290. Registration for both is open now at www.evolveconference.com.
