THQ.today announced the latest installment in its highly successful MX franchise. Developed by THQ subsidiary Pacific Coast Power & Light Co., the next MX game is scheduled for release on the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system and Nintendo Gamecube this summer followed by an Xbox video game system from Microsoft release this fall.
“After successful launches on PlayStation 2 and Xbox last year, we are now bringing our MX franchise to all the next generation systems in 2002,” said Alison Locke, executive vice president, North American publishing. “This latest installment will once again showcase the sport’s number one pro rider, Ricky Carmichael, along with a host of enhanced features and a high-flying freestyle mode.”
“Our next MX title will continue the success of the franchise by building on all of the racing action and features from last year’s game with a more robust freestyle mode and an expanded career mode,” said Don Traeger, president, Pacific Coast Power & Light Co. “With 22 new tracks and numerous wide-open freestyle worlds to explore, this will be the most in-depth and adrenaline pumping MX game to date.”
