Flipside Europe celebrates its first birthday and one million European subscribers.
Flipside Europe, the pan-European online casual gaming company owned by Vivendi Universal Net, celebrates its first birthday this month with the great news that it has more than 1 million subscribers in Europe.

In the last 12 months, Flipside UK has built a loyal gaming community of 400,000 subscribers. There are four gaming sites available to UK users - Flipside (uk.flipside.com), Uproar (uproar.co.uk), Uproar Lotto (uproarlotto.co.uk) and Virtual Vegas (virtualvegas.co.uk). Gamers can play more than 80 single- and multi-player games free of charge. UK Flipside users are among the most loyal surfers online, with each visit lasting an average of 27 minutes, compared with an average of 19 across the Internet as a whole (source: Nielsen//NetRatings, October 2001).
The popular Uproar gaming site was purchased in March. Its strong games licenses - Family Fortunes, Blankety Blank and Catchphrase – prize offerings, advanced e-mailing capability and games development skills, combined with Flipside’s casual gaming expertise, loyalty programme and community knowledge, immediately positioned the group as the undisputed worldwide leader in the online gaming market.
Over the next few months, Flipside Europe will be preparing to integrate the four brands into one mega games offering , with the intention to re-launch in the first half of 2002.
