London, 18 October, 2011: Four new downloadable content (DLC) packs for Gran Turismo®5, and one comprehensive ‘Complete Pack’, are now available to purchase from the PlayStation®Store. Sony Computer Entertainment Europe announced the new DLC on 11 October when it released the new GT5™ Functionality Update 2.0 for the 63.5 million-selling racing simulation game.

With Update 2.0 already making significant improvements to the GT5 gaming experience, the DLC packs add stunning new content in the form of cars, tracks, special paint and racing gear.

The new ‘Racing Car Pack’ includes a new iteration of the stunning Red Bull X2011, the ultimate racing vehicle designed in conjunction with Red Bull Racing and adds 11 new cars from Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Subaru, Toyota and Dodge as well as three new bespoke karts.

A hugely exciting addition to Gran Turismo 5 is that of the famous, real ‘World Track’ Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. Located in Belgium’s Ardennes forest, Spa is the venue of the Formula One Belgian Grand Prix and the famous Spa 24 Hours and is loved by drivers and spectators alike for its fast, hilly and technical nature as well as iconic corners such as Eau Rouge. The new track is available as part of the ‘Course Pack’ along with a stunning new indoor karting arena which itself includes two layouts.

A new 100-colour set of paints, that include new matte, chrome and polarised colours, makes up the ‘Special Paint Pack’. This will allow a new, unprecedented degree of personalisation within GT5.

But it is not only the cars that will be personalised. The Racing Gear Pack’ includes special racing gear with 25 new Gran Turismo design helmets and 15 race suits as well as new Simpson helmets and Alpinestars GP1 race suits.

If gamers are looking for inspiration, they will also have access to a famous driver pack from which they can select the race gear of drivers such as Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt, Jr, Tony Stewart and Jimmie Johnson from Nascar; as well as rally drivers Petter Solberg, Sébastien Loeb, Mikko Hirvonen and Toni Gardemeister.

“I was clear from the launch of Gran Turismo 5 in November last year that the game would continue to develop over time,” explained creator Kazunori Yamauchi. “This new DLC, combined with the recent Spec 2.0 functionality update, will enhance the GT5 experience for our hard-core fans as well as those new to the game. In the same way that many of the changes in Spec 2.0 were driven by feedback from our community, much of the new content was also created as a result of their suggestions. I am particularly pleased to see the wonderful Spa-Francorchamps circuit make its full debut on Gran Turismo. It will be a lot of fun.”

The DLC packs are available to purchase separately for or as a ‘Complete Pack’ bundle at a reduced price:

Racing Car Pack - £6.29
Course Pack- £3.19
Racing Gear Pack - £1.59
Special Paint Pack - £1.59
Complete(Bundle) Pack - £9.49
PlayStation Plus Bundle Price - £7.19 (1 month offer)
