Konami of America, Inc. today announced three exciting new action titles for Nintendo's Game Boy® Advance handheld console system. The titles are based on Universal Pictures' and Amblin Entertainment's Jurassic Park III, the third installment in the studio's most successful film franchise ever, scheduled for release on July 18, 2001.
Konami's Jurassic Park III game line-up includes Jurassic Park III: The DNA Factor, scheduled to ship when the movie opens in July, Jurassic Park III: Park Builder, scheduled for release in early Fall 2001 and Jurassic Park III: Primal Fear, shipping later in Fall, 2001.
"The JPIII titles deliver outstanding graphics, action-packed gameplay and exciting plot twists to movie fans," said Chris Garske, vice president of marketing at Konami of America, Inc. "The three games will allow gamers and fans to take part in the same exciting adventures they've seen on the big screen while carrying a piece of the movie in their pocket."
Combining heart-pounding action with elements of exploration and adventure, Konami's Jurassic Park III series for Game Boy® Advance sets a new standard in handheld action gaming.
Jurassic Park III: The DNA Factor recreates the Jurassic Park world and takes players into an interactive pre-historic adventure. The game is a fun and unique mix of side-scrolling adventure stages and intense puzzle action. Jurassic Park III: The DNA Factor includes more than 10 species of dinosaurs and 12 huge levels to explore.
Jurassic Park III: Park Builder allows players to create a miniature version of the dinosaur theme park, right in the palm of their hands. Search the world for DNA samples and use them to create over 100 dinosaurs to display in your park. Build shops, restaurants and dinosaur facilities, and manage all aspects of the theme park.
In Jurassic Park III: Primal Fear, players are lost on an island inhabited by fierce dinosaurs, forcing them to use all their cunning and survival tactics to escape. Explore the island, find equipment and weapons and search for the location of the rescue helicopter before becoming the main course. The game features 360-degree movement through huge 3D rendered environments, several species of dangerous dinosaurs and dozens of items to bait and trap the dinosaurs.
About the Film
Jurassic Park III continues the series that began with Jurassic Park and The Lost World: Jurassic Park. Joe Johnston (October Sky, Jumanjii), who first collaborated with Steven Spielberg on Raiders of the Lost Ark, directs. Kathleen Kennedy and Larry Franco are the producers and Spielberg is executive producer. The wizards at Industrial Light & Magic and Academy Award® winner Stan Winston once again combine forces to create the dazzling dinosaur effects.
The strong cast includes Sam Neill, returning in the role of Dr. Alan Grant, which he originated in Jurassic Park, William H. Macy (Fargo), Tea Leoni (The Family Man), Alessandro Nivola (Love's Labour Lost), Michael Jeter (The Green Mile) and Trevor Morgan (The Patriot).
Anxious to fund research for his new theory of velociraptor intelligence, renowned paleontologist Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill) is persuaded by a wealthy adventurer (William H. Macy) and his wife (Tea Leoni) to accompany them on an aerial tour of Isla Sorna. This infamous island, once InGen's site B, has become both a primordial breeding ground for John Hammond's magnificent creations and a magnet for thrill-seekers eager to encounter them.
When a tragic accident maroons the party of seven, Grant discovers the true reason his deceptive hosts have invited him along. In their perilous attempt to escape with their lives, the dwindling group encounters terrifying new creatures undisclosed by InGen, and Grant is forced to learn the dreadful implications of his raptor intelligence theory firsthand.
