Ubi Soft Entertainment and Entertainment Software Publishing Inc. (ESP) have signed an exclusive world-wide, (with the exception of Japan), licensing agreement to publish and distribute Evolution 2: Far Off Promise, the sequel to last year's popular Evolution: The World of Sacred Device, for Sega Dreamcast. Launching in Summer 2000, Evolution 2 features the original cast of heroes and heroines of Evolution,
adventuring through a capricious new land with danger lurking around every corner.
This new agreement with ESP adds a strong potential game to the group's range of RPG titles already rich with Grandia or Evolution: The World of Sacred Device(tm); the latter has been an important success in the US and in Japan. It is also a new title for the already large Dreamcast range of the
group that include Suzuki Alstare Extreme Racing and Monaco Grand Prix Racing Simulation 2. The product will benefit from Ubi Soft's direct distribution network in 15 countries.
Evolution 2 follows the adventures of Mag Launcher as he continues his quest to explore uncharted ruins and uncover ancient artefacts. It will deliver intricate labyrinths to explore, tougher villains and bosses to defeat and diverse puzzles to complete.
"We are very excited to have this opportunity to work again with
Entertainment Software Publishing Inc.," says Laurent Detoc, Vice President Ubi Soft San Francisco. "With impressive graphics and diverse gameplay,
Evolution 2 will give players the best elements of the original and deliver
challenging puzzles and more in depth gameplay."
"Combining the success of Evolution and technological savvy of Ubi Soft Entertainment, we feel very positive that Evolution 2 will greatly surpass players expectations as rich graphics and ample gameplay yield an engaging gaming experience," says Yoichi Miyaji, President/CEO, Entertainment
Software Publishing, Inc. "Evolution 2 will immerse players into the already familiar universe of Evolution as they embark on daring new adventures in a graphically stunning world."
