Haigh-Hutchinson worked on Paperboy before joining LucasArts in the late '80s. At LucasArts he co-developed Star Wars: Dark Forces and Rebel Assault.
He was also project leader and contributing programmer on such N64 games as Star Wars: Shadow of the Empire and Star Wars: Rogue Squadron.
He then joined Retro Studios shortly where he worked on the original Metroid Prime team as senior engineer and was integral in the development of the franchise's camera systems. Haigh-Hutchinson worked across all three Prime titles.
He died of a heart attack in January 2007 leaving a wife and two daughters.
