The Royal Armories in Leeds is showcasing real versions of weapons used in the likes of Assassin’s Creed, Call of Duty and Sniper Elite, as well as giving people (over-18 people) the chance to handle them. The museum is putting on seminars this Saturday, with Jonathan Ferguson, curator of firearms and Henry Yallop, assistant curator of European edged weapons, giving a talk on the role of weapons in games and providing the opportunity to handle them.
“If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to hold these iconic weapons, this is your chance to find out. We will also deliver a presentation on the depiction of weapons and their use in video games over the years – and why they’re so essential to so many titles in different genres,” Ferguson said to the
Yorkshire Evening Post.
