Fresh screenshots (and a packshot!) have been released for SEGA's upcoming Yakuza 1 & 2 HD Wii U port. And the fact that it's currently Japan-only still makes us cry into our pillows every night.
SEGA announced the game during a Nintendo Direct last month. If you missed it, that's because the port was only revealed during the Japanese broadcast, and not the European one. It marks the first time that the Yakuza series has appeared on a non-Sony platform, and will feature GamePad functionality. Expect maps and off-TV play.
Yakuza producer Toshihiro Nagoshi referred to the Wii U version as an experiment to gauge interest in the series beyond the PlayStation family of consoles. It's likely that Nintendo is helping out in terms of publishing the title - if so, it could also potentially shoulder the burden of publishing and distributing a Western release. Maybe we're just being optimistic, though.
