Everyone wants a new Earthbound/Mother game. Series creator Shigesato Itoi has made three of them already, but the most recent one, Mother 3, still hasn't seen a Western release. And in fact, many Japanese gamers are clamouring for a Mother 4! But can Itoi be persuaded? Not a chance.
The 64-year-old creative responded to a question from a fan on Twitter that read: "Mr. Itoi, please think about a way to make Mother 4." Itoi's translated response was, "Impossible." Ain't gonna happen.
Nintendo is responding to Western demand for the series, as it announced recently that Earthbound will be released on Wii U Virtual Console later this year. It will be the first time the game has seen any official release in Europe. Mother 3, which was released on GBA in 2006, still has no Western release date however.
