It's been announced that, in a kind of obvious move, Sony is putting out a 3D Ratchet & Clank film.
The film, which will share assets with Sony's series of games, will be in cinemas in 2015. As well as borrowing assets from Insomniac, it's also borrowing a writer - TJ Fixman.
"With the movie, we have the opportunity to go back to the duo’s origins and use our knowledge to create a deeper, more meaningful story. In a lot of ways we’re reimagining our own work while keeping the franchise DNA intact. This lets us answer all the fans’ questions and theories in a big, cinematic way,” Fixman said.
Rainmaker Entertainment and Blockade Entertainment are the studios behind the film. In an unusual move, Sony has already put out a teaser trailer.
James A. Taylor, David Kaye and Jim Ward are all reprising their roles as Ratchet, Clank and Qwark respectively.
