Someone's itching for a lawsuit. It's likely that you've heard of Urban Trial Freestyle before - it was announced some five days ago on the PlayStation Blog - but a new video outlining some of the features of the game has surfaced. And it makes its plagiarism of Trials HD even more apparent.
Trials HD was developed by Finnish studio RedLynx and published by Ubisoft in 2009. It is only available on the Xbox 360. Urban Trials Freestyle is being developed and published by Tate Multimedia/Interactive in Poland, for release on PlayStation Network (and apparently, Nintendo 3DS). It is releasing four years later.
The video in question - which you can watch below - shows off just how closely Tate has followed the rule of RedLynx's law here. Right down to the graphical style. We feel for the poor PlayStation Access presenters, who are clearly trying their best not to say, "it's just a blatant rip-off of Trials HD".
They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but this is clearly taking the piss. Watch the video and judge for yourself.
