Some fresh details of the highly-anticipated 3DS shooter Kid Icarus: Uprising have been revealed by Nintendo - including a brief story synopsis, a new difficulty-based game mode and various perhipherals. The adaptive difficulty mode is called Fiend's Cauldron. Hearts collected during play can be bet on increasing the 'Intensity' of a stage, which can be adjusted in decimal point increments from 0.0 to 9.0. The higher the Intensity, the harder the gameplay but the sweeter the rewards. Enemies will be more powerful and aggressive, but you'll win more Hearts and powerful weapon drops. Nintendo also revealed nine different kinds of weapons in the game, from Divine Bows to Shot Claws.
In terms of story synopsis, it isn't exactly something to write home about - according to the
press release, the game sees the return of Medusa, the Queen of the Underworld, as she threatens the heavens with her Underworld Army. "Pit, a heroic angel, with the help of Palutena, goddess of light and guardian of the human race, must combat the forces of darkness as he battles Medusa and her minions by air and by land."
Kid Icarus: Uprising will also come with a stand peripheral, and will be compatible with the Circle Pad Pro accessory. The game's hitting stores on March 23rd.
