US film streaming service Netflix has officially launched in the UK. Brits who've been holding out on rival LoveFilm in favour of its American counterpart can now subscribe for £5.99 a month and access content on Wii, PS3, PC, Mac, iPad and Apple TV. An Xbox 360 app will be released later today. It may have taken some time for Netflix to hit our shores, but the upshot of this is that the company has secured a nice selection of content that spans both sides of the Pacific.
South Park and
24 are joined by
Torchwood,
Little Britain and... erm,
The Only Way is Essex. No accounting for taste.
Hints were dropped a couple of days ago when an icon for Netflix appeared on the XMB of UK PS3 consoles. For those sitting on the fence, Netflix has a one-month trial.
