Real Life Wipeout Video is Fun
With Wipeout 2048 due to accompany the February 22nd release of the PlayStation Vita, it's time to look at a 'real life' Wipeout video.

This apparently comes from the The Japan Institute of Science and Technology and its Quantum Project - although the person posting it has a gmail address.

The post itself states that, "Here is a short footage on our recent work on quantum levitation. We were inspired by the game Wipe'out to do our work. With this new technology, we hope to revolutionize the world of motor transport; Maybe in a near future we could assist to a real Wipe'out race.

Great vid and looks mostly do-able, but the track switching, use of the crazily complex 2DConnexions controller and obvious PR logotype at the end shout FAKE. Still, another one for the Mythbusters

Erm.. that's a fake. It's a viral vid for the new Wipeout 2048 videogame on the upcoming Playstation Vita. Japan Institute of Science and Technology is a fictional organisation and also there is an error in the CGI at 1:14, the yellow racer goes out of shot but you can still see it's vapour trail on top of the track.
