Codemasters Issues F1 2010 Corrupted Saves Workaround
Codemasters has publicly offered a temporary workaround solution for F1 2010 players who are experiencing issues with corrupted save files.

The corruption seems to occur after completing an R&D objective in a practice session and unlocking a new upgrade. Retiring to the paddock from that point will cause errors in loading the save file back up again.

To avoid this, community representative Caldera says that you must "make sure you then load in to the following qualifying session before exiting the game."

A patch is in development that will nobble the bug permanently, but in the meantime F1 2010 players will have to do a little bit of menu working to avoid knackering their saves.

I got the same issue, but I used Windows Previous files to restore the folder containing saves. So only 1 GP is gone. But better than 17.
