It takes a lot of talent to make such a big impression with your very first project. But Media Molecule has impressed Sony Computer Entertainment so much with LittleBigPlanet, that it has decided to acquire the Guildford studio.
It makes Media Molecule the fifteenth first-party Sony studio, following efforts by the company to reinforce its exclusive output on PlayStation 3. The acquisition was announced as an effort "to continue to secure excellence in game development for current and future PlayStation platforms."
As Stephen Fry would say in the game, it all makes you feel a bit warm inside doesn't it?
