USA: Video Games in December - Mario Kicks Modern Warfare
NPD has announced its December charts for video gaming fun in the USA. Despite the other players in the industry enjoying the idea that Nintendo might be fading a little, the fact is that New Super Mario Bros. Wii beat Modern Warfare to the top.

1 - New Super Mario Bros Wii - 2.84m
2 - Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - 2.75m
3 - Wii Fit Plus - 2.4m
4 - Wii Sports Resort - 1.8m
5 - Madden NFL 10 - 1.5m
6 - Assassin's Creed II - 1.2m
7 - Mario and Sonic at the Olympics - 1m
8 - Wii Play - 1m
9 - Mario Kart Wii - 936,730)
10 - Left 4 Dead 2 - 728,491)

How can people say Nintendo are fading? especially looking at that list. If you could theres five games Nintendo developed that are in the top ten and people are saying they are fading. I'd like to see how..

Cos nobody but Ninty and Sega make any money offof their platforms. And with Sega, it's only Mario and SOnic games that sell, so really only Nintendo IPs make any money on Ninty hardware.

That's not Nintendo fading, that's third parties fading because of them being stupid to the bone. There are enough smaller companies doing just fine on Ninty hardware, but because they're small and their games don't sell millions upon millions, the gaming media doesn't give a s**t and doesn't report anything about it.

Level 5 is a nice example, Marvelous would probably been bankrupt if hadn't focused its development efforts on DS and Wii, in a lesser extent also Atlus, hell even Square-Enix owes the DS so much for practially funding FFXIII
