Rock Band 'The Industry Leader'

Rock Band 'The Industry Leader'
While announcing the arrival of some of Sir Paul McCartney’s live choons taken from his latest live album, Harmonix, MTV Games and, in Europe at least, EA, as made one hell of a claim.

"Rock Band is, without question, the industry leader in providing the best selection of interactive musical content, songs and artists", reads the press release. Well, it's good to see the old year exiting mired on the same kind of meaningless drivel that it came in with. The use of 'unquestionably' makes it appear that some fact can be introduced. However, "best selection" is so unquestionably subjective as to make this puff essentially meaningless.

Anyway, ranting aside, the 'new' tracks introduced come from a November 17th gig to 'musically christen' New York's Citi Field. The details:

"...beginning Jan. 5, Rock Band and McCartney fans will be able to download New York City Pack 01 in the Rock Band Music Store. McCartney’s solo debut on the Rock Band platform includes Band on the Run (live), Jet (live) and Sing the Changes (live). These tracks will be available Jan. 5 for the Xbox 360 and Wii and Jan. 7 for PlayStation3."

Price: $1.99 USD, £.99 UK, €1.49 EU (160 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360) per track $5.49, £2.49 UK, €3.99 EU (440 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360) for “New York City Pack 01” $2.00 USD (200 Wii Points™) per track."

Um, I think Sony might have a thing or two to yabout that, what with its SingStar effort. Or does HarMTVA consider a title an "interactive musical" game only if it contains plastic peripherals along with the mics?
