Back in February when Namco Bandai
ditched Bottlerocket as the developer of
Splatterhouse, we feared we might not see the game. Well, now we will.
The game, penned by very occasional
SPOnG contributor Gordon Rennie, will hit PS3 and Xbox 360 at some unstated point in 2010.
"Today's console technology is literally decades ahead of what powered
Splatterhouse when it made its first indelible bloody mark on gaming, which means we now have gore like never before for all the fans and the new generation of gamers lining up to get to grips with Rick,” said Hiroaki Ochiai, a marketing man over at Namco Bandai, who then proceeds to tell us, "If you have the stomach for it, there's nothing more satisfying than beating a hell beast to death with its own leg."
We reckon there probably are many things more satisfying. One of which is training a hell beast to stomp into a marketing convention... can you think of any more, eh readers?
Can't wait for 2010? Have a look at the
Wii VC version in the meantime.
