For those readers who actually believe that two decades ago something other than dinosaurs roamed the world, the fact that Nintendo's Game Boy was launched this week in 1989 might come as a bit of a shock.
Well, be shocked because it was. The handheld first saw the retail light of day on April 21st 1989 in Japan. Americans and Europeans either guffawed and mocked it in a fanboyish style, or they waited until a year later and two years later respectively to get their hands on it.
At launch it cost 8,000 Yen (that's £55 at today's exchange rate).
