Despite the accepted fact that all movies based on video games are rubbish, the Street Fighter IV movie (Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li) managed to make it to Number 8 in the Top 10 in the US box office this weekend. It clocked up some $4.6 million in sales.
That compares to Tyler Perry's Madea Goes to Jail (yup, us too) at Number 1 with $16.5m. Oscar winning Slumdog Millionaire even managed to penetrate the group consciousness of the the US cineplex-going public, coming in at Number 3 with $12.1 million.
