Summary

Germany ultimately failed to win World War II, but it still managed to achieve some small victories during that conflict. Achtung Panzer: Kharkov 1943 does away with the usual scenarios of Allied Western forces versus Nazis and instead focuses on the East, deep in the centre of the Russian Kharkov Defence Operation.

An historical strategy game that dares to be different, Achtung Panzer: Kharkov 1943 gives you an in-game god-mode style camera that lets you zoom in and out of the action on the battlefield at will. With this method, you can see how your individual units are performing and make necessary adjustments to tactics.

You can tackle the six available scenarios from either a German or Russian standpoint, with each side offering unique styles of combat fresh from the Wehrmacht and USSR armies. Up to 250 soldiers and 40 vehicles can be played in each battle, adding tension and chaos to the proceedings. Which is handy because the environments are destructible – cause some mayhem while you write (or rewrite) history!

If you're one of those people that prefers to play their RTS games in a particular way, then there's even something for you here. Two different control modes allow for either turn-based strategy or real-time tactics.
