Summary

Blistered thumbs are in order for the second Coolboarders installment. Following the grungy, mood setting intro, it's straight to the slopes for some straight up 'board or die'.
Pick out your boarder using the indicated speed and agility ratings, dress him/her in some way cool clothes, choose you board - design your own, and hit the slopes.
Head for the board park to brush up on your boarding techniques. Try out the Big Air mode to get some initial grab and flip combo tutoring. Alternatively, get dizzy in the halfpipe trying to rack up the points with 540 Indy Nosebones and Lien Air flips and a whole slew of other thumb busting combos.
When you're confident you won't spend most of your time in a sitting position, the competition is where the real fun is. With 2 stages per round, and a total of nine rounds, you must clock up the highest points with the most radical of flip, grab, spin combos while attempting to land on you board in the first stage Big Air contest. Your state one airborne performance determines your position in the second stage, which is a straight race to the finish avoiding trees, chasms, rock faces and other boarders.
Initially, it can feel as though you don't have complete control of your boarder. Landing flips and rotations can be frustrating early on in play, but as always with this type of game, the more practice you get, the more complex tricks you'll be successfully performing.
Longevity is increased as all the courses you play in the competition tour are opened up to freestyle play, and playing against a friend in either split screen mode or with the link up to another Playstations could lead to many post-alcohol brawls.
