Summary

Iceborne is a pretty serious expansion to Monster Hunter World that takes players to the frosty land of Hoarfrost Reach. It's a meaty chunk of game that will be more than welcome fans of Monster Hunter, many of them having only found their way into the series with its 2018 debut on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Hoarfrost Reach is an icy, treacherous world and ecosystem that offers a pretty big contrast to the main game. It's the biggest region in the world so far, offering players a wealth of new content and, of course, monsters to hunt. Think you're an accomplished fighter of massive beasts? Wait until you come up against the likes of horned brute wyvern Banbaro or the snow-covered Beotodus. And always lurking in the background is the ever-present ice dragon, Velkhana...

If you do manage to best them, however, you might be in the running to try out the higher difficulty Master Rank, a whole new tier of quest that makes new and old monsters alike more punishingly tough to beat than ever.

This is a game that's so serious, it should be noted, that as well as having the base game you need to have completed it and hit Hunter Rank 16 in order to even get through the doors. You've been warned!

But if you do make it to Hoarfrost Roach, you'll be treated with tons of new content and yet more ways to take down those big ol' monsters.
