Summary

Times are tough on Kronos. It's a world at the heart of a human-dominated empire, and every time an emperor dies all the major factions pile down to do battle on the ground and see who's going to be the new top dog. This time things are even worse, because it's widely held that life extension technology has reached a point where the next emperor will most likely live forever!

This is the mileu that you, the player, step into for some old school turn-based strategy based on the classic hexagonal style. The core of the game is two single-player campaigns, offering an impressive 30 or so hours of gameplay between them. It's largely combat oriented, with resources gained through acquisition rather than harvesting, and players will duke it out with a range of high-tech weaponry in the name of supremacy. There are some 40 different infantry, ground, naval and airborne units, as well as buildings, many of which can be upgraded to grant them new capabilities.

There is, however, a healthy multiplayer option that offers play either against opponents online or locally via hotseat. There's also an interesting 'asynchronous multiplayer' option that works similarly to a 'play by mail' game, with rounds stored on a server for you to dip back into at any time.
