Summary

DAEMON X MACHINA is a Switch-exclusive mech game with a serious pedigree and an impressive visual punch.

The game is set in a future where the moon has fallen from the sky, pushing humanity to the brink of extinction. You play as a mercenary trying to survive on this devastated world. Of course, the availability of powerful mechs known as 'Arsenals' will surely help...

This is a fast and furious mech combat game from a crew who really know their way around the genre. The dev team is a veritable murderer's row of Japanese gaming talent. Producer Kenichiro Tsukada, known for the Armored Core games, is at the helm; his colleague Shoji Kawamori is behind the mech designs; Junichi Nakatsuru and Rio Hamamoto have crafted a high energy techno-rock soundtrack and Yusuke Kozaki (of Fire Emblem Awakening and Fire Emblem Fates fame) has tackled the character designs.

The world is littered with titanic 'Immortals', massive mech-like nasties on a Shadow of the Colossus scale, as well as corrupted AIs. These are the enemies that you and your AI pal Four are contracted by the Sky Union to take down. You can fight freely on the ground or in the air, and taking down enemies will result in dropped gear that you can use to endlessly customise your mech, adding kit to its back that you can swap out during combat. If you find you don't have what you need, however, the ability to swing street signs as melee weapons or throw cars around as projectiles always helps!

Another helping hand comes from the eye-popping cel-shaded art style, which frames a combat game that fizzes with energy and action. If you're looking for an over-the-top mech combat game on the Switch, this is your fix.
