Summary

ARK: Survival Evolved is one of the most played games on the planet, so it's little surprise that Chinese studio Snail Games is branching out. And, as ARK: Survival Evolved has undeniably been influenced by a certain blockbuster movie franchise it's pretty natural that the first spin off to come out of the series is ARK Park. What makes it special is the fact that this is your chance to get up close and personal with its dinosaurs in virtual reality!

The pace is a bit more leisurely than ARK: Survival Evolved, with a split between exploration, resource gathering and management and some good old-fashioned combat.

On the exploration front you can tour tropical rainforests, snow-covered mountains, and expansive plains either solo or with some pals to discover the dinosaurs that lurk there. No guns allowed, so it's all about seeing what's there - think of yourself as a prehistoric David Attenborough. Well, maybe the beloved naturalist crossed with Indiana Jones, as you'll also be bringing a little something back in the form of gene cubes. You'll gather them from the species you encounter through a combination of puzzle-solving, exploration, and resource management. Once you've got them you'll be able to unlock blueprints then craft tools, lures, items and weapons.

Collect some eggs and you'll also be able to indulge in a spot of dino breeding, even riding your creations!

And, of course, there's a story mode in which the dinosaurs start running amok and it'll be up to you and your mates to defend the base with custom-made weaponry against primordial terrors unseen on this planet for millions of years!
