Summary

It's time to go back to Middle-earth. In Shadow of War players pick up the threads of Talion's and Celebrimbor's story (based on J. R. R. Tolkien's legendarium and set between the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, fantasy fans!) and carry forward decisions made in the last game to a brand new epic!

This definitive edition of the game is... well, the definitive edition! It includes all the DLC released to date, including the Slaughter Tribe Nemesis Expansion; Outlaw Tribe Nemesis Expansion; Blade of Galadriel Story Expansion and the Desolation of Mordor Story Expansion.

Talion and Celebrimbor still share a body and, having forged a new ring of power, seek to turn Mordor against the will of Sauron and strike a blow for the world of men. The stakes are nothing less than titanic and the situation no less than dire.

The game's open world is enriched, leaning closer to action RPG territory than it's predecessor with the expansion of the Nemesis system. As in Shadow of Mordor, you'll develop personalised narratives with the foes you battle that depend on how you treat them, but now that extends to other characters and the very world around you, creating a deeply personal narrative. You'll particularly see that play out with the introduction of Followers, who bring their own stories of loyalty and revenge. Also included are Nemesis Fortresses, which allow players to use different strategies to take dynamic strongholds with their unique orc army.

New to the game is a multiplayer mode, in which players can battle to take each others' fortresses to decide who will rule them all! In the 'friendly' version of this you can win or lose then go on with your game. In a ranked match, however, you risk losing some of your orc followers permanantly.

In Shadow of War the stakes have never been higher!
