Summary

Assetto Corsa has picked up a really strong following on PC since it's launch in 2014, followed it up with a strong showing on console and now it's back yet again with this Ultimate Edition that squeezes in eight DLC packs offering 178 cars, 16 circuits and 33 different track configurations on top of the base game.

The game is a racing simulation that places the emphasis squarely on the fidelity of the racing experience. More specifically, it's won fans for the driving experience. Every hum and purr has been recreated on the screen, and petrolheads rave about how well developer Kunos Simulazioni has brought the handling and performance of the cars into the game. In particular, the game has won praise for the option to turn off all the assists and drive the cars with their factory settings.

Fans of the PC original will be pleased to see that this is a very complete package, porting over every patch and piece of DLC to the living room. It's basically a very faithful port of the PC version that doesn't make any concessions to console architecture.

The game comes with upwards of ninety high-performance cars, including the Mercedes C9, the Team Lotus 98T, the Ferrari LaFerrari, the Pagani Zonda R and the McLaren 650S GT3. There are also more than twenty different track configurations, including the likes of Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, Silverstone Circuit, Autodromo Nazionale Monza and Nürburgring-Nordschleife.

For racing nerds, Assetto Corsa is one of the most comprehensive simulations available.
