Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions - 3DS/2DS

Back in the early 2000s some Nintendo fans were disappointed to learn that the Mario RPG series by Nintendo and Squaresoft was no more. They needn't have worried, however, with Mario & Luigi taking its place and rightly earning its place in the hearts of fans. Now, a decade and a half on, a new generation of fans is getting the chance to experience it for themselves with this 3DS remake, and some added input from Bowser's Minions.

So what can you expect from Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga to give it its full, somewhat fruity name?

For a start, it s set in an all-different world known as Beanbean kingdom. And, prepare for a shock, Mario has befriended Bowser, his eternal big fat lizard Nemesis. A witch has stolen the Princess voice, and now when she speaks, she alarmingly regurgitates bombs - not a good thing. But the witch also has an eye on Bowser s kingdom. Something must be done.

This is an epic adventure, combining RPG elements with ultra-camp humour, puzzles and classic platform action requiring the different skills of Mario and Luigi to complete. You ll recognise characters along the way in a true Mario world.

Then, about five hours in, something entirely new pops up. In the optional 'Minion's Quest: The Search for Bowser' mode you take on the unlikely role of Captain Goomba. Journey with Shy Guy, Boo and other familiar Baddies to uncover the truth of what was really going on behind the scenes in this classic Mario Bros adventure.
