Summary

There's a reason why Everybody's Golf is called EVERYBODY'S Golf. The likes of PGA Tour approach golf with the aim of creating as realistic an experience as possible and the results, while great for enthusiasts, can come off as a little overly serious for the more casual gamer. Everybody's Golf, however, approaches the sport with a lighter touch, and since it first teed up on the PlayStation One 20 years ago the series has always been a fun, inclusive take on the game.

The game starts with character customization and access to just one course while you learn the ropes. Tournaments are semi-random, with modifiers like cup size, the players you're up against, time of day and even some fiendish tornado cups changing things up and allowing you to gently learn the ropes. You'll earn experience points and cosmetic items as you go, and when you level up a rival will come to your island hub, challenging you to a one-on-one match on your island hub that might have match rules such as penalties for going into the rough.

The big change this time out is an open world aspect that allows you to wander courses as you please, getting online to mix it up with other players. While on the course you can do things such as drive golf carts like a lunatic, chatting casually to other players or fishing for loaches. You can even, if you fancy it, play a round of golf!

In other words, for serious golfers and casual gamers alike, there's lots of fun to be had in Everybody's Golf!
