Summary

A few years ago many gamers wouldn't have expected the once-niche farming sim genre to flourish, but in 2017 it's looking like a surprisingly busy genre. Entries such as Story of Seasons, Rune Factory, Stardew Valley and the more straight-faced Farming Simulator have entered the fray, but Harvest Moon remains a mainstay.

In this latest game in the series a once prosperous land known as the Oasis of the Harvest Goddess is foundering, and the formerly lush and green Skytree Village is arid and dry. But, if you can restore the seven Skytrees back to help you can give the goddess back her power and bring life back to the valley.

Skytree Village brings a few tricks learned from Minecraft to the Harvest Moon series. Players can change the very fabric of their farm by raising and lowering the land, creating rivers and ponds and more.

The tasks of shaping the land, planting and cultivating crops and managing your farm all come alongside the RPG-like elements Harvest Moon is known for. You can wander the village, helping your neighbours by completing tasks and even starting a family. All the components of the real life of a farmer. Plus, you know, the job of restoring the power of a great goddess!
