That Captain Olimar just can't seem to keep his spaceship in the sky. When he crash lands on a new planet inhabited by Pikmin he needs no less than 30,000 Sparklium Seeds to repair his trusty ship! Fortunately the strange, cute, plant-like Pikmin are on hand to help.
Hey! Pikmin is the first 2D side-scrolling platformer from the series, and it combines action with a touch of strategy. Players will guide Captain Olimar through the stages in tried and true platforming style. The thing that sets this game apart is that the Captain is accompanied by Pikmin with a host of different abilities. Using the touch screen and stylus players will throw Pikmin at things they want them to interact with (don't worry, they don't mind!) and then watch them get to work.
You will, of course, want to get the right Pikmin for the right job. Blue Pikmin, for example, can swim, whilst the red fellas can handle themselves in a scrap and resist fire and Rock Pikmin are as hard as stone and great for smashing things up.
Any Pikmin you successfully guide to the end of the level will get sent back to Pikmin Park to search for more Sparklium Seeds and treasure, so the more you save the better your chances of fixing your ship!
