Summary

Gravity Rush was something of a leftfield hit for the PlayStation Vita, blending interesting gravity-bending controls with a quirky art style and narrative. Home console owners got to try their hand at it with a remastered version in 2016, but Gravity Rush 2 is the first series outing built from the ground up for the PlayStation 4.

The game gets started with our hero, Kat, her partner Raven and police officer Syd setting out to investigate strange gravitational waves doing weird things over Hekseville. They're swallowed, however, by a strange gravity storm that's ravaging the world on an unprecedented scale. Kat finds herself in a strange mining city in a remote dimension, and it's from there that Kat must begin her fight against the monsters emerging across the world.

As with the first game, Gravity Rush 2 is all about movement. Walls and ceilings become floors. Kat rushes through the air, bending gravity around her, moving seamlessly throught her strange floating environments. Two new styles have been thrown into the mix, too - Lunar and Jupiter - enabling Kat to perform new combat moves.

Combine that with an art style based on France’s 'bande dessinée' comic book aesthetic and richer environments than ever, and PS4 owners are in for a treat.
