Disney Infinity might have excited kids everywhere, but Disney Infinity 2.0 opens the game up to a whole new range of gamers. How? Come on, the title's a bit of a giveaway - 2.0 brings Marvel's superheroes into the fold!

The game has the same format as the first Disney Infinity - players get the game, the USB base and an assortment of characters to put on it. Once the game's fired up players can put their figures onto the base and see them come to life in the game! The starter pack is Avengers-centric, with Iron Man, Thor and Black Widow available right out of the box. Players can buy a whole range of figures separately to populate the game with, though. There are more Avengers such as Captain America and Hawkeye, New York favourites such as Spider-Man and Iron Fist and even 2014's summer stars, the Guardians of the Galaxy!

Original stories have been written for the game by Marvel Comics superstar writer, Brian Michael Bendis. The three stories that start things off revolve around the Avengers, Spidey and the Guardians.

While the game is definitely still family friendly, and the playful feel of the original is still here, there's more to go at for older players. It's more game-y, with characters now falling into different classes and having different specialities such as ranged and melee attacks. One of the biggest differences is the inclusion of branching skill trees. Making a permanent choice about which way to develop a character will not only be saved in-game, but also to the real-life figure. That means that if you take a figure to a friend's house, you take the skills and characteristics you've developed with you.

Toybox mode returns, with players able to build their own in-game environment and set challenges for their friends.

For kids and comics fans alike, Disney Infinity 2.0: Marvel Super Heroes is going to push all the right buttons.
