Summary

Dinsey's Planes might not have been quite the Cars follow-up you were expecting, but it's a logical move when you get down to it. And, just as following up Cars with Planes makes sense, so does following the film with a game.

Planes: The Videogame expands on the events of the film, giving fans an extra taste of the world Pixar has created. Like Cars, Planes features a hero - Dusty, voiced by Dane Cook - who wants to be a racing champion. Unfortunately, as a humble crop duster he's not exactly built for it. Playing the game, you get to take on the role of Dusty and other characters such as Ishani, voiced by actress Priyanka Chopra; Echo, voiced by actor Anthony Edwards; and Bravo, voiced by actor Val Kilmer. You'll take to the skies, heading of on global missions, grand adventures and, of course, air races.

One example from story mode is a mission in which you must chanel electricity from the clouds in order to get power stations on the ground up and running again. Really going for the global angle, another has you shooting piles of coloured powder to help out with preparation for the Indian festival of Diwali.

Other modes include free flight, in which you can wander through the different game locations at your leisure; Air Rallies, in which you do some old-fashioned racing; and Balloon Popping, which does what it says on the tin!

The console versions also feature drop-in/drop-out co-op!
