Japanese adventure-cum-combat outing Blazing Souls Accelate is all about strategic battles as the player must work out whether to launch individual strikes or massive combo attacks on their enemies using a battle map and adventure map that are one and the same.

Blazing Souls Accelate isn't simply about fighting though - the gamer also has the option to create over 200 different items and skills for their own use: what you do before battle affects the terrain, and vice-versa. Search for towns and dungeons at the guild, explore hidden areas, battle enemies you encounter and watch animated events.

Blazing Souls Accelate plays out in a land now peaceful and in the midst of rebuilding after the ravages of the Seven Year War. The gamer takes the role of protagonist Zero who stumbles across a mysterious stone which is infused with a powerful magic known as the Core Elemental.

The gamer – as Zero – must take on more and more jobs in order to investigate the many locations in the game and to unearth an ever greater number of the Core Elemental stones.

Along the way he encounters the Human Genomes, new creatures created by God to replace mankind. He must fight them in order to survive, and this means honing and improving his fighting skills. Each battle he wins brings Zero closer to his birthplace, and the truth of his existence.

Using a traditionally crafted turn-based strategy RPG system familiar to many gamers, the player must collect a crew of other mercenaries and win battles in order to reach his destination.

This is achieved with victory in battle and also by earning Work Points (WP), to be spent scouring the world map using clues from townsfolk.
