Assuming the role of Nicole "Nico" Collard, a charming Parisian photo-journalist who witnesses the murder, players guide her as she investigates the statesman's slaughter. During her investigations, which feature exclusive new locations, Nico meets amiable American George Stobbart, who has been unwittingly caught up in the sinister and bloody theft of an ancient manuscript. Together, the two are drawn into a terrifying conspiracy rooted in a long-forgotten medieval legend.
In addition to extending the original classic storyline, The Director's Cut features an intelligent hint system that picks up when players are having trouble with puzzles and gives gentle nudges in the right direction. Along with revisions of some of the original's more troublesome puzzles, Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars - The Director's Cut is a must have for newcomers and veterans to the point-and-click adventure.

The Sleeping Dragon benefits from developer Revolution's own graphic engine, and character movement is assisted by the studio's proprietary Virtual Actor Engine.
So, it looks good, but how does it play? Well, that character movement we mentioned is fluid and easy to control, even on PC, and the gameplay is as deep as it gets. Fans of the previous Broken Sword games will not feel let down as they assume the role of the intrepid George Stobbart, as he teams up with his good friend Nico for another adventure of epic proportions. The adventure is on a global scale, taking players through a variety of European cities such as Glastonbury, Paris and Prague, and carries them as far as The Congo. Can you save mankind from a global catastrophe? And can you imagine how much shopping George had to do to get all those air miles?

The heroes of the first game, George and Nico, return for yet another life-threatening adventure. This time around, their challenge is a truly sinister one. As the threatening darkness of the eclipse smothers all, the discovery of a sinister drugs ring by chance reveals an arcane power of an ancient civilisation. Torment and terror, sacrificial rituals and bloody massacres are unearthed beneath a veil of Mayan mystery.
While the story of Broken Sword 2 is an intense one, the pace of the game is actually quite slow; a typical feature of point-and-click games. But that’s not to say it isn’t intriguing and addictive. On the contrary, figuring out some of the game’s mysteries can be highly frustrating, yet satisfying. Throughout your journey you will interact with as many as sixty unique characters that will provide clues as to your next lead. Items are also of vital importance. You must learn where to acquire them and how to use them if you are to make it out of this adventure alive.

Back in control of Stobbart, who is - sigh - once again charged with saving the world, you're armed with a richly illustrated manuscript that holds as many secrets as it does clues. As you progress, information gleaned from the characters you meet or uncovered from the many locations across the world helps you decode the manuscript's secrets and move toward revealing the identity of 'the one true patriarch' in a gripping and intriguing story that is deftly interwoven with factual context.
To assist in your decoding of the manuscript, you carry a PDA. Beyond the usual note-taking and lists of contacts, the PDA can be used as a hacking tool. The hacking puzzles, once completed, result in access being granted to various databases around the world, which are then cross referenced with the information contained in the manuscript.
