Summary

Coming from the design mind of Nobuteru Yuki (Chrono Cross) with animation by Madhouse Studio (Barefoot Gen) Solatorobo: Red the Hunter comes with quite the Japanese gaming and anime heritage.

The player takes the role of Red Savarin, a 17 year old man-dog and his mech companion called Dahak as they battle against the giant robotic Mecha and other enemies. The fights are all part of the epic journey that takes the duo through the superbly rendered floating islands of the Shepherd Republic.

The reason for the journey and the fighting emerges after an early encounter with the mysterious Elh Melizée, a 14-year old cat-girl. Together they are joined by Red’s sister called Chocolat Gelato (a 13 year old dog-girl) to discover Elh’s secrets and defeat the evil monster Lares. All of this entails quests that involve puzzles, exploration, doing battle with robots and sky pirates, as well as racing planes all the while navigating Red’s airship through the skies above the island chain.

Completing the quests earns the gamer money and the ability to increase your Hunter Level. However another mode, 'Battling', sees players lifting and smashing robots for XP (eXperience Points) to extend Red’s life.
