Summary

Someone has a magic marker that can create pretty much anything they can draw. Right now, however, that person is probably not you. But don't worry! There's a pretty easy way to remedy this situation – just get yourself a copy of Max and the Magic Marker and you can doodle to your heart's content.

The game stars (this won't shock you) Max, a young lad who receives a mysterious marker in the post with no explanation as to where it came from. Max doesn't waste time, however, and since he loves to draw he quickly gets to testing his new piece of stationary out. As soon as he finishes his drawing of a monster, however, the beast comes to life and leaps into another drawing! Realising that the monster is wreaking havoc in his drawings, Max decides there's only one thing for it and draws himself right into the picture.

The player gets to control Max for some good old-fashioned platforming fun. While some platforming and a charming idea might be enough for many games, however, Max and the Magic Marker comes with a big juicy twist. Using the marker, you can draw directly into the game world and anything you complete becomes part of it! This means that you can take on just about anything with only your brain and your pen.

Post-modern musing on the relationship between fiction and reality or fun physics-based puzzle and platforming game? You decide!
